Development prospect of ceramic fiber

Jun 04, 2022

Due to the rising energy prices, the fuel cost will become the bottleneck to curb the development of the ceramic industry, and energy conservation is becoming more and more important. People pay more and more attention to the heat loss of kilns, and some directly add a layer of refractory ceramic fiber on the surface of the original refractory lining to improve the thermal efficiency. Obvious cracks or spalling parts on the kiln wall must be repaired before pasting. However, insulating refractory bricks and refractory fibers should not be abused arbitrarily. Up to now, for example, the lining of alkaline oxygen blowing steelmaking furnace and cement rotary kiln can not be lined with fiber temporarily due to serious high-temperature chemical erosion.

For continuous heating equipment such as ceramic tunnel kiln, refractory ceramic fiber has been used as the lining of continuous heating equipment for a long time. According to relevant data reports, the energy-saving effect of using refractory ceramic fiber in rapid pusher kiln and tunnel kiln is very significant. Especially for ultra-high temperature heating, if the firing temperature is 1538 ℃ - 1649 ℃, the energy-saving effect of using refractory fiber is the best.

At present, ceramic fiber lining is used in all ceramic kiln equipment in Europe, America and Japan. Not long ago, Japan decomposed the gas tunnel kiln into car structure for sectional manufacturing, and then transported it to the construction site of the porcelain factory for assembly. All this is due to the use of ceramic fiber materials, which greatly saved the kiln cost and made it simpler. The research on promoting the energy-saving effect of ceramic fiber products from the aspect of material modification is also in progress.
