Precautions For Rock Wool Board
May 25, 2022
1. pay attention to rainproof, and do not construct in rainy days.
2. for cold insulation, a damp proof layer must be added. Under the condition of extremely low temperature, rock wool without resin shall be used for insulation, and the damp proof layer must also be fireproof
3. when the temperature exceeds a certain temperature, such as 200 ℃, appropriate external protection must be added to the insulation, so that the thickness and unit weight of rock wool board will not change.
4. for insulation of finished rock wool products for large diameter and flat wall equipment, when the temperature exceeds 200 ℃, be sure to keep in mind the instructions of the rock wool board manufacturer: add insulation nails (with a spacing of about 400mm) and stick the external protection tightly.
5. equipment, insulation nails and pipelines requiring thermal insulation can receive appropriate coating to facilitate corrosion prevention. In addition, there shall be no leakage. This can achieve better results.
6. if the finished rock wool board is vulnerable to mechanical wear under the condition of outdoor thermal insulation, it should be covered with metal or plastic, and then pay attention to the joint and the sealing of the joint. If necessary, add a colloidal seal, and the stacking part of the wrapping layer should not be less than 100mm
7. when the insulation object is placed at 90 degrees and has a certain height, the insulation layer of rock wool board must have a locating pin or support ring, and the spacing must not be greater than 3 meters to prevent the insulation data from sliding downward in case of vibration.
8. in order to minimize the heat loss, the joints of rock wool board and felt must be closely connected. If there are multiple layers of insulation, the cross joints need to be intertwined to avoid forming a thermal bridge, and the cold bridge must be eliminated during cold insulation.
