Performance comparison between ceramic fiber board and calcium silicate board

thermal shock resistance
Thermal shock resistance (i.e. rapid cooling and heating resistance) is a significant advantage of ceramic fiber board. It can be heated and cooled repeatedly without cracks and product strength reduction. The calcium silicate board is composed of granular materials, and its resistance to rapid cooling and heating is far lower than that of ceramic fiber board. Therefore, a certain amount of fiber must be added to the calcium silicate board for reinforcement.
Digestion expansion extrusion performance
As the ceramic fiber board has the characteristics of toughness and strength, it can timely absorb and digest the expansion force generated during the heating process of the refractory brick or refractory castable when used as the thermal insulation backing, so as to avoid the cracking of the brick or castable caused by stress, and the product strength and application effect are not damaged at all, which is unmatched by calcium silicate board.
Reuse performance
Ceramic fiberboard has a strong reusability, especially in the maintenance of kiln walls. With a little attention, ceramic fiberboard will not be damaged. However, because the strength of calcium silicate board decreases greatly after burning, and it is a brittle material, it can not be reused.
Transportation, storage and construction
(1) Because ceramic fiber board has high strength, toughness, strong anti-collision, collision and falling ability, and is not fragile, it provides more convenience for products during transportation (especially loading and unloading vehicles) storage and construction. However, calcium silicate board is a brittle material, which is easy to break or lack of corners and edges, which not only causes product loss, but also affects the use effect. Therefore, attention must be paid to avoid collision during transportation, storage and construction. (2) ceramic fiber board has very good waterproof performance (the simplest test is that the product will not sink in water for 24 hours, which brings great convenience to transportation, storage and construction, especially in rainy and humid environment. Moreover, due to the waterproof performance of ceramic fiber board, waterproof agent can not be used for waterproof treatment during construction. Calcium silicate board is a material with strong water absorption, so waterproof treatment must be done during construction. (3) In construction, ceramic fiber board is easier to cut than calcium silicate board, and the environmental pollution (dust) is less.
